W. David Corrick

David Corrick joined Long & Levit in 2022 and brings over 28 years of experience as a litigator in state and federal courts, administrative forums, and appellate courts. David has practiced in diverse areas of law, including medical and legal malpractice, elder abuse, products liability, and professional licensing. As a deputy attorney general in the Health Quality Enforcement division of the California State Office of the Attorney General, David prosecuted professional licensing discipline matters on behalf of the Medical Board of California, the Physician Assistant Board, and the California Board of Psychology. He now uses that experience defending professional license cases, including defending attorneys in California State Bar proceedings. David regularly serves as a judge for law school moot court competitions, including  the U.C. Davis School of Law, Asylum and Refugee Moot Court Competition and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Civil Rights Trial Competition.

During law school, David served as both a writer and editor for the Pacific Law Journal. He was also awarded entry to the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society for academic excellence. He has authored a number of published articles, including “Physician Discipline in California: Reality Revealed” (The New Diagnosis, Summer 2013) and “Don’t Mix Zucchinis with Cucumbers or You May End Up in Lodi” (Plaintiff, May 2013).

In addition to his law degree, David holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from California State University–East Bay and is a member of the California Psychological Association. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Corrick worked in a psychiatric hospital where he developed and implemented summer and after-school programs for children.
