Ms. Allen’s practice focuses on the defense of lawyers, law firms, judges, employers, and other professionals in civil cases and disciplinary proceedings. She regularly counsels clients on legal ethics, risk management, compliance, professional liability, and general business matters. She also counsels employers on a variety of employment matters including, developing and implementing an alternative workweek, wage-hour issues, worker classification, reasonable accommodations, harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims.
Ms. Allen obtained her bachelor of arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law from the University of Southern California, and her juris doctor from The George Washington University Law School.
While attending law school Ms. Allen served as a Senior Staff Member of The George Washington University Law School Federal Circuit Bar Journal and the Authority Editor of the Nota Bene (a student run law magazine). In addition to her studies, Ms. Allen was a criminal procedure research assistant, and a law clerk at several federal government agencies, including the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Allen also served as certified law clerk at the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Allen currently serves as a director on Barristers Club of The San Francisco Bar Association’s Board of Directors. In 2020, she was elected the Club’s Diversity Director. In her role, she leads the Board’s efforts to have the Club reflect the diverse legal community of the San Francisco Bay Area. She creates and promotes programs focusing on the advancement of underrepresented attorneys and racial justice.
