Prior to joining Long & Levit in 2019, Benjamin Mains served as an Assistant District Attorney in San Francisco and Contra Costa County for over seven years. A veteran trial attorney, Mr. Mains has prosecuted sixty-five jury trials to verdict, conducted hundreds of evidentiary hearings, and negotiated thousands of plea agreements.

A graduate of Princeton University and The University of California Hastings College of the Law, Mr. Mains is also an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University and has written and lectured on both criminal law reform and social justice policy.
