Update
on Leaves of Absence, 2007
In April, Long & Levit employment partner, Jason A. Geller,
and associate Kevin D. Whittaker, delivered an all-day seminar to
several Bay Area employers on the topic of employee leaves of
absences and related matters. The seminar specifically addressed a
California employer's obligations under leave laws, including the
California Family Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and
the 2007 San Francisco sick leave ordinance. These topics are
quite significant because an employee leave of absence often
involves the interplay between various laws that impose many
separate requirements on California employers. Mr. Geller and the
other attorneys in Long & Levit's employment group routinely
speak on a wide variety of topics of interest to employers.
