John Hook was the firm’s most senior partner, respected by all in the legal community. He had extensive trial experience and maintained an active civil litigation practice throughout his almost sixty years at Long & Levit, LLP. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Hook has authored numerous articles on insurance industry publications relating to subrogation recoveries, allocation of multiple policy period loses under first party policies, and actual cash value/fair market values rules under California law and California State Bar publications relating to discovery and risk of loss in property insurance.

Presentations

Mr. Hook has lectured to insurance organizations on insurance-related issues covering first and third part bad faith, defending arson cases, and proper investigation of large subrogation cases. He has also taught courses for the California Education of the Bar on demonstrative evidence and insurance bad faith.
